Director of operations

John moved to Charlotte in the summer of 2017 to work in Consulting after completing his graduate degree. He started attending Oakhurst in the fall and was baptized in the spring of 2018. After working in the consulting industry for over two years, he joined the staff as the Director of Operations.
In his free time, he enjoys playing music, walking his dog, running, tennis and mountain biking.

Faith was born in Savannah, GA, and grew up in Fayetteville, NC. She moved to Charlotte in 2015 to attend UNC-Charlotte and graduated in 2018 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Reading. After graduating, she took a job as a Kindergarten teacher at University Meadows Elementary, a Title I school in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system, where she works full time!

Faith enjoys good books, long hikes, and spending time with people. She has been very encouraged in her walk with Christ since joining Oakhurst in 2019, and she is very grateful  for the opportunity to help with Children’s Ministry!

Music Director

Thomas is a native North Carolinian who moved to town to attend UNC Charlotte, where he graduated in May of 2015 with a B.S. in Computer Science. Fun fact: He and his wife, Rachel, met here at Oakhurst and as of August 2020 they became parents, welcoming their baby girl Elizabeth into their lives! Thomas serves our church by leading our Music Ministry.

Chris Solomonides

Student Ministry intern

Chris is from Columbus, OH and attended The Ohio State University where he received a Bachelors of Science in Business in 2018. After college Chris married his wife Claire in 2019 and they moved to Charlotte so he could begin his Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary. Chris works both as an Intern and the student ministry assistant for the middle school and high school students in the church. Alongside his student ministry responsibilities, he is also given opportunities to teach and lead in order to serve the church and grow in those areas. In his free time Chris enjoys playing sports, watching sports, and board games.

Cade Mcdonald

Cade is originally from Austin, TX. He attended Wheaton College in Illinois, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. More importantly, however, Wheaton is where he met his wife Tess! Cade moved to Charlotte, NC in the summer of 2018 in order to pursue a Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary, where he is currently a student. At Oakhurst he is in charge of administrative tasks in order to take some responsibilities off the pastors plates so they can devote more time to leading the church in teaching/shepherding! He also is given opportunities to teach and lead in order to serve the church and grow in those areas.

Drew Patrick

Drew is from Atlanta, GA and went to college in a small town called Milledgeville located in the middle of the state. After graduating in May of 2018 with a Bachelors in Business Administration and a minor in Rhetoric, he moved to Charlotte, NC to attend Reformed Theological Seminary to begin the Master of Divinity program. He got married to his wife Sierra in December of 2018 and they have two dogs. At Oakhurst he is in charge of administrative tasks in order to take some responsibilities off the pastors plates so they can devote more time to leading the church in teaching/shepherding! He also is given opportunities to teach and lead in order to serve the church and grow in those areas. He has also recently been entrusted with the oppourtunity to oversee and help grow the college ministry here at Oakhurst.

Teddy Folkerts

Teddy was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota. He attended North Dakota State University where he received a bachelors in Psychology in 2016, the same year he married his wife Allie. In 2019 he and Allie moved to Charlotte NC to begin his Master of Divinity (MDiv) at Reformed Theological Seminary. He has recently transferred to Southern Baptist Theological Seminary to finish his MDiv. At Oakhurst he is in charge of administrative tasks in order to take some responsibilities off the pastors plates so they can devote more time to leading the church in teaching/shepherding. He also is given opportunities to teach and lead in order to serve the church and grow in those areas.
