Dave grew up in Charlotte, and after being gone for 15 years, returned to lead the replant of Oakhurst Baptist Church in late summer of 2015. Prior to his time here at Oakhurst, Dave spent 5 years on staff at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC, where he served as an elder and received training under the pastoral mentoring of Pastor Mark Dever. In 2010, Dave founded and directed the ministry of Campus Outreach DC. He led a staff team of 12 to launch campus ministries at George Washington University, Georgetown University, and Howard University. Before moving to DC, he served as a director with Campus Outreach in North Carolina for 10 years, leading a team of staff in evangelizing and discipling students on college campuses in the Triad area.
Dave earned his BA from UNC Charlotte, his Masters of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and completed the Pastoral Internship at CHBC. Dave’s past speaking arrangements include the Together For The Gospel 2014 Conference and the 2015 Desiring God Conference for Pastors. He is passionate about the local church, discipling, and evangelism.
He and his wife, Carrie, have four young children and are excited to see all that God does for His glory through this church.
Originally from Connecticut, Peter lived in Charlotte for over a decade before his time at Oakhurst. Peter earned a law degree from Duke University, holds an MAR from Yale Divinity School, and is a practicing attorney in the city.
David has lived in Charlotte for over a decade. He grew up in Indiana and spent time in California before moving to Charlotte, where he now works as an engineer. David and his wife Kelly have five children.
Jobey is a native Charlottean. Before his time at Oakhurst, he spent 13 years overseas, playing professional basketball in Italy and Portugal. Jobey came to know Christ while a student at UNC Charlotte and has a passion to see others come to know Christ. He and his wife Kristin have three children.
